Art, Books. and Pie~

A new year and new learning! So exciting!!

We chose to use the FIAR Mini Unit for Pocket Full of Colors first reading it, then painting a fireworks chalk pastel~

They wrote their 2020 goals which were so interesting~

I'm sure SJ's goal is to draw more wolves as well as read everything there is about them~

One of the rabbit trails we pulled from the book was The Great Depression so we gathered more go along books and loved this one about Babe Ruth~

The other thing we are enjoying is the new Bravewriter Arrow for Pie~

We did another fun chalk pastel. This time just for fun just because we could~

They had watched The Mandalorian season over the holidays so I knew they would love this one~

THEN...
we invited my mom down to help us bake a Coconut Cream Pie as a fun activity to go along with out read aloud Pie~

Everyone LOVED learning all the pie-making tips she shared~

LOTS of skills involved in cooking~

I think our favorite part was making the meringue and it turned out perfect~

Thank you Memommy for a wonderful time of baking, poetry teatime, and pie eating~
Just look at that perfect PIE!!!

Just Things to Remember~

Saturday SJ wanted to make breakfast and lunch all by herself.
(Pig-n-blankets & Ramen noodles: her specialties)
She loved all the accolades showered on her by her sibs~
The four littles told me they were playing NewSpring with walkie talkies
telling each other that two new girls and where did this dog come from. (Ha)
I was excited to have new shoes and hit the road with my walking buddy, Macy!

My mom stopped by today for no reason and I loved seeing the kids
piled up with her reading all their journal stories~
Evie got her new glasses today and she looks adorable~
Just a few things to remember!!!

Saturday Christmas with my Sister's Family~

We were not finished with Christmas quite yet so I put everything away except our big tree.
It felt good to have uncluttered space with beautiful light streaming back through the windows~

My sister and family drove to Ga Saturday morning and we gathered for dinner and gifts that evening~
The kids had already opened gifts from Memommy and Pop but Sissy's family gave them a super cool new swing~
A Swurfer and can't wait to see them enjoying it... IF the rain ever stops!!!

Christmas with Martins~

Jason, Amy, and family will travel for Christmas so we opened gifts with them and my parents early~

We watched everyone open youngest to the oldest~
 Then we decorated Christmas cookies~
So much fun celebrating with cousins~
Everyone LOVED their gifts but SJ had to wait to get home to enjoy her Easy Bake~
She mixed her cookie mix, baked, and gave the thumbs up for a delicious snack~
Thank you to the Martins for a wonderful Christmas celebration!
We LOVED opening gifts early giving everyone something new to play with while we wait for Santa.

Parties Galore~ Happy Birthday 74th Birthday!

My Mom's birthday was Saturday and we had the Martin Dairy Christmas party
so we took pictures with her~
and enjoyed being together so much that Max and Addie came home with us for the afternoon~
We saved her birthday party for Sunday and she cherished every single card they made for her~
After partying, we all went to our hometown Christmas parade~
It was a BIG weekend with lots of Christmas parties, Birthday celebrations, and dinner guests. We loved every minute of it!!!

A Big Mystery Box~

UPS dropped off a package that I DID NOT order. :)
I was curious and opened it but kept from the kids.

I took it into the school room and introduced A Big Mystery Box game.
I had them first guess who they thought sent it
and then what they thought was in there~
The suspense was so exciting!
We opened to find a collection of 28 Magic Treehouse books from Memommy~
It was like Christmas morning.
Everyone was SO excited and grabbed ones they liked.
EK has already plowed through about 3 of them and SJ is reading her very first chapter book!
What a wonderful surprise from the best Memommy in the world!
Thank you mama... we love you SO much!!!

Ben Curtis Weekend~

We were thrilled to get a call from Savannah Friday
asking if BC could spend the night with us~
Turning our usual nothing going on weekend to Ben Curtis Weekend {YAY}~
He was all over the place crawling, pulling up, and standing alone~
A short video of him in action and just on the verge of walking~
He was mesmerized by the pendulum on the clock!!!
We all chased him like cray crays in love~
He is definitely well cared for~
Mealtimes and bedtime seemed to be WAY more fun~
I wish I had a photo of his face when his mom and dad walked in Sunday...
priceless.
Memommy came down for a visit~
And I soaked in all the Grandlove I could on this visit~
We love and adore you Ben Curtis and can't wait for our next time!!!

Christmas Eve~ {New Tradition}

Because lots of chaos tends to make 'some' overstimulated
(too many presents opened at one time),
we decided opening presents with Memommy and Pop
at their house with just us was the way to go.
Everyone got something to wear and play with~
It was such a fun time opening things we could play with throughout the day~
*marble run
*911 phone
*Dr kit
*Osmo game for Ipad
A New Tradition for Christmas was the best!
Thank you Memommy and Pop!!!
Can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!
