Simple Sunday Lake Style~

Living on the lake sure has its perks~

 We chose to take this cute crew for a lake day and I can't believe I let Calla swim!

The favorite thing was stopping at a couple of islands for exploring~

 Calla even wanted to be dropped into the water because the other kids were jumping off the front~

 First mate was fun and eating lots of snacks~

 We made it all the way down to the dam for some more island time~

There were so many cool rocks and the water was very clear.
I think they could have stayed for hours.
Already planning our next lake adventure!!!
Lake living is the perfect life for our family!

Simple Sundays~

We have chosen to attend our church in the afternoons for the past couple of months at a 4pm service
because the crowd is smaller and a little less stressful for our kids.
This also makes for a much slower Sunday morning with pancake breakfasts and quiet time playing~

Today as I stood in the kitchen making lunch, a car came down the drive
and because I wasn't expecting visitors was completely surprised to see
two loves of my life coming for the day~

 They made all of us SO happy~

 BC had so much fun he couldn't even take a nap~

That was perfectly okay because we can never get enough of him!!!
The best Sunday ever and they headed home as we were leaving for church.
Thanks Savannah for a great Surprise! Like SJ said, do again soon!! :)

Making Memories~ {Weekend}

Our weekend couldn't have been sweeter loving on Ben Curtis.
Here is his back in his momma's arms~

So so sweet!

The rest of the weekend included yard work, Addie's 4th BD party, church with lunch afterwards~

 Once home we took the littles down to the dock for a little fishing~

 Didn't get a single bite but this crew didn't care a bit.
They just loved casting and reeling!~

Ella spent most of her time wading in the murk by the bank catching tiny minnows.
Pretty cool... maybe catching with a net is better than with a pole. :)

Having a week of sick kids made for a super Simple Sunday.

EK and SJ went to church with Amelia and Logan~

and while the kids were playing in the yard, Scott and I had church via my phone right out there with them!

We ate the last 4 of our meals outside on these tables~

Today was the Holly's first time ever on the swing and she was terrified~

 I stepped back just a second to snap her photo~

 but most of the time my arm was wrapped around her and she let that beautiful smile shine~

There was lots of riding and running~

 EK helping our neighbor Margaret walk her dogs!

Everyone was hot and sweaty so we took an after dinner swim~

and no judging...

deemed this our chlorine bath time!!!

I will share that she and Abby had their photo taken with Coach Mark Richt tonight~

She begins classes tomorrow and can't wait to hear all about it!!!

On the way to church I look back to see SJ writing on the windows. In the past I would have gotten on to her... I've mellowed in my later parenting. {Sorry Bigs}. 

LOVE that Evie and I can go to church together until she is ready for her class. Not seeing it anytime soon. "I go with mommy". 

The boys could pour over the Lego catalog all day long. 

Count on EK to remember and remind us every five minutes it is 'Sundae Sunday'!

Simple Sunday... A Lovely Story~

I enjoyed spending time with my Kindle this weekend~

 Reading Kay Bratt's new book, The Scavenger's Daughters~

 One of the sweetest stories I've read in a long time!

It is no secret how much I LOVE China and the people there so this book really took me back for a visit.

I can not wait for the sequel!!!

AND just because this little daughter is stuck on me like skin~

 She's super easy to shoot pics of... 

actually she asked for the one above and I couldn't not take the one below~

Today was a day of rest.

The perfect one for rain and golf.

AND today Evie has been 'our little bit'

for 3 months~

  Such a sweet baby and we are SO thankful she is home adjusting SO well.
