A Beautiful Simple Sunday!

Sadie's Gotcha~

Fisher is 13 years old and has arthritis/hip problems... gets up just like an old man.

Each day it's hard to watch him uncomfortable and stiff.

You know other things we worry about and when.

ALL the kids LOVE him and we couldn't imagine life without him.

Amelia has enjoyed some community service this semester @ PAWS for Phi Mu and fell in love with a dog named Stud continuing to go even when her service was done. She began hinting to us she wanted to bring him home and Scott finally gave in. IF he was still there today, she could adopt him.

Wednesday when she went, Stud was gone to another family. Sad for us but happy for him. I guess this got Scott thinking.

Thus Sadie... 

loved by a family: single mom with a 19 year old away at college and just couldn't take care of her. Scott met them today and they cried saying goodbye.

Amelia and EK LOVE her beyond words, Rosie likes her, SJ and WP will get there.

I can't even put into words all the reactions the kids had when Scott drove up today and Sadie jumped out. JOY!!!

I guess EK summed it up pretty well when putting her to bed...

This was the BEST day of my life. :)

Happy Gotcha Sadie girl... welcome to your forever!!!

 Just know you and Fisher will become the best of friends!

Fisher is getting pretty old

and has a hard time getting around~

 He is SO happy when Scott comes home

each afternoon for some special attention.

I looked out the other evening to see two best friends

enjoying a little quiet time together.

Generations~ Joy to Love

Three years ago this summer,

Scott and I moved back to the hometown we both grew up in...

same town,

same high school,

same church,

and

same house (Scott's childhood home).

About a year later,

we bought our current home on the lake.

Best part about the whole thing~

we are a few miles from lots of family...

Mama, daddy, my brother and family,

Scott's sister and brother's families

not to mention tons of extended family.

We eat at least once a week together

with my parents and Jason, Amy, & Max.

Last night we enjoyed a superbowl fiesta here at our house

which was the perfect time for a

Joy to Love~ Generation Photo!

It is a sweet thing to have my parents so close

to share in the day to day life of all the girls.

I grew up living near my MaMa Martin

and she probably had the biggest influence on my life

other than my own parents.

Now my children are gleaning this same influence

into their lives too.

My parents are NOT the photo op type but they allow me

to capture them from time to time~

last night being one of those times.

Earlier in the day

I looked out to find EK play with her 'other' best friend~

Fisher.

And...

Both Amelia and Savannah made the local newspaper!

Nothing Better...

Nothing is better for EK than being outside with Fisher- she could stay out there all day with him. She thinks she's big walking him around with the leash.

I have to say, I'm loving her messy hair these days!!! She plays so hard! :)

Saturday, Scott and EK cleaned everything in sight: the car, the golfcart, EK's bike, and Fisher.








That morning we all strolled the farmer's market and picked up some fresh tomatoes- so what for lunch? A good old tomato sandwich! EK LOVED it!!!

It was a GREAT weekend!!!

Scott said what could be better than a warm day just hanging out with your big dog! We shot lots of video yesterday but this one was the last and just shows how comfortable EK is with Fisher.
