Fun Friday~ {It's A ZOO Around Here!}

Earlier this week EK and SJ took one little section in our Apologia Science book

and went ZOO wild with it.

They immediately began making zoo keepers and visitors.

Their dad took them to Walmart for supplies and found a board to build on

and Today they created All! Day! Long!

They collected all the animals they could find in their room,

built all the exhibits, copied info about all the animals~

 and BOOM... their own Zoo~

I had them give me a tour while I videoed and think they did amazingly well~

The other kiddos ran back and forth checking out the progress

then back to their Fun Friday activities...

Listening to stories, making amazing Art projects~

 Playing with the Kinetic Sand which we LOVE!!!~

Turned out to be one of the best Fun Fridays ever!!!

EK's Party Day~

Due to flu over our spring break week EK's party day was postponed until yesterday. We began the day with a visit to the Zoo which they all loved... especially EK~

 She has grown so much as a reader since last year and loved reading the map/information about the animals. I pretty much decided we could count it as a school day (especially since she was tutoring her siblings. :)

For her party she chose an American Girl celebration complete with meal and cake/ice cream. All three little girls were in awe that the waitress took such care with their dolls placing them in chairs right beside them. All three big girls just glowed as they watched their little sisters so happy~

Of course the best part was the staff walking out to announce EllaKate's 8th birthday and the whole restaurant singing to her. :)

After we ate and of course had leftovers, the boys came in the finish it all off.

Then we were off to pick out gifts from Savannah and her aunts, Susan and Jan. The girls and I just assumed she would want a 'sister' for Ivy but she picked a husky/snow sled instead along with some clothes and high chair like the one they used in the restaurant. Right up her alley. :)~

 We met Josh for dinner on the way home and rolled in about 8:30. It was a long wonderful day for the whole crowd... parents, big sisters, little sisters, and little brothers. I think we can safely say EK had the best birthday ever.

I LOVE outings with our family~

Tuesday afternoon, we took the littles to the zoo...

WP's first trip and he loved it.

He knew what an elephant, giraffe, lion, and duck were~ 

named them all by himself.

There is a really big playground out front

and they loved it just as much.

I think it took WP back to his SF days. :)

EK worked and worked to cross the monkey bars

and succeeded!!! Yay~ 

 

It was the best of days!!!
