Quarter of a Century~ {Savannah}

25 beautiful years is how long Scott and I have loved this 4th of July baby~

We couldn't wait for them to get here today so we could start a day of partying poolside~
We all enjoyed a fun day in the sun~

We sure missed Mill but I think she was in good hands~

We grilled burgers and dogs then topped it all off with cake and homemade ice cream~
My grandfather turned 98 this past week so we loved celebrating him as well!
Holly was all smiles all day~
I'm pretty sure she is liking the family thing!!!
Happy birthday sweet Savannah!
YOU started this whole family thing and we sure are thankful God blessed us with you!
One of the BEST 4ths ever!

The Day my Name Changed~

24 years ago on July 4th, 1989, a little baby changed my world and my name... to mama. The photos below are so special to me because I was 24 when Savannah was born and she turned 24 today. SO cool to see us at the same age~
I had planned to go with Scott to watch him run the Peachtree Road Race but my back was hurting and my neighbor (hey Susan) suggested I stay home. Not long after he left, Susan took me to the hospital... I was in labor. Don't worry... he made it in plenty of time and was there for the whole beautiful thing!!!

I am SO thankful for all the scrapbooks I have kept over the years and to have our home movies on video now. I pretty much spent this rainy day working on the collages and video below... celebrating my beautiful Savannah who is away this week on vacation (again:).

Enjoy the following photos of her on all 24 birthdays of her sweet life~

 Dear Savannah~
There are no words to tell you how much Dad and I love you. You gave us the greatest gift when you were born and continue to bless us every single day of your life. You will never know our love for you until the day you hold your own child in your arms. It is the sweetest experience ever. {I should know... I've done it 8 times!} We hope this next year will be one of the best for you!! And just look at what you started... 8 blessings and our lives are SO full we fall on our knees in gratitude to the ONE that gave it all to us and for us! Bless His Holy Name and to Him be the Glory!!!
Love Mama, Daddy, Amelia, Rosemary, EllaKate, ShayleeJoy, Payne Curtis, Will Perry, and EvieClaire
Love you to God and back!!!

PS~ Happy Fourth of July... I got carried away. :)

A Happy 4th~

We all went out to Savannah and Josh's house on Tuesday to do a little celebrating.
We did a little birthday shopping, made pasta for dinner, opened presents, and went out for yogurt~
SO surreal sleeping @ Savannah's house and next morning off to the Peachtree Road Race...
A very cool place to be since it was where Scott was the morning Savannah was born.
We all rode Marta, dropping Scott and Amelia at the start... her first~

We traveled on to Woodruff Art Center to wait for them to run by.

I would be fibbing if I said I wasn't concerned about A running
after having her wisdom teeth out just two weeks ago
BUT I shouldn't have because she did AMAZINGLY well~
We had such a great time hanging out with 60,000+ of our closest friends. :)~
After the race, we headed back home with the whole crowd to continue the bd celebration...
Poolside~
 Then grilling and a party~
Happy birthday to our beautiful Savannah!

Later Scott reminded us of his idea to have everyone put on the Peachtree Road Race shirt
from each child's birth year for a photo.
I wore the one of our wedding year~
We couldn't be prouder of our daddy for running 28 Peachtrees~
He is such an inspiration to every single one of us!!!
To quote Savannah~ It was a wonderful day and her favorite bd ever!
I couldn't ask for anything more~ SO blessed!!!

23 Years~

I have loved this beautiful girl for 23 years and she still amazes us~
Born on July 4 with her daddy barely making it back from the Peachtree Road Race.
 And look at her now~
Grown, gorgeous (inside and out), married to an amazing man,
AND just got her first teaching job~
8th grade math... exactly what she had prayed for.
LOVE that she is following her dream and her mom. :)

The 4th is ALWAYS Fun!

For the last 22 years,
the 4th has been a very fun day for our family.
In addition to celebrating the birth of our country~
we have celebrated the birth of our first born!!!
Scott always runs the Peachtree Road Race
and usually we all go down to cheer him on
but living almost 2 hours away makes it a little harder
to go with him.

On Sunday after church,
we headed out for a little time on the lake~
and got caught in a big downpour~
 ending up in a slip
at the marina for about an hour~
and got this precious photo of my beautiful children!!!
Yay!

Then on Monday, we waited for Scott to get home
from the race so we could grill out.
Around 4, we made ice cream
and celebrated Savannah's birthday with our family~

Savannah and Josh headed back home
and we headed back out on the lake for fireworks.
Such a fun thing because tons of boats
pull into a small cove and we all watch fireworks shot lakeside.
Rosie invited Leslie to go with us~

Waiting for the show~

Two worn out littles way past their bedtime~

Dear Savannah~
The day you were born was one of the best days of my life!
I wanted a girl SO bad, I was sure you were a boy. :)
I loved you with all my heart the moment
I heard your heartbeat
and I love you more than you will ever know
until you hold your own.
I am SO very proud of you and love talking to you every day!!!
I look forward to what God has in store for you this year!
Love forever and always,
Mom

Saturday Pool Party

Last year, Josh threw Savannah a pool BD party
right after he proposed so they could make the announcement.
This year he threw another to celebrate his beautiful wife!
They had several friends up for the day~
many of whom we had not seen since the wedding.
It was SO great to hang out and catch up!!!
Just a few photos~

Jim even brought his guitar and played for us!!!

After we grilled some delicious burgers and hotdogs,
a few of them went out on the lake for a little while~

A very sweet day celebrating a very sweet Savannah!!!

Birthdays, Stitches, and a Wedding~

Rosie and Leighton celebrated their birthdays four days apart, and we had a ball at Leighton's Magical Unicorn Waterslide 4 YO party~ It...
