New Maps~

School is pretty much back in full swing around here
and Calla is right in the middle of it doing her own amazing thing~

I saw these cool Map Pops on a friend's wall and ordered them for our room~

 It was fun to hang them then stand back and hear the conversation of what they knew.

We are actually trying out a new learning tool this week~
Bigger Heart for His Glory {Heart of Dakota}
and I LOVE how music/singing is incorporated into the plans~

I pulled out a favorite Sing to Learn & our Steve Green scripture CDs
and loaded them into my Itunes account.
It was awesome to see Evie and Calla's face light especially when I turned on the music.
It is definitely their love language/learning style!!!
The others loved it too and all know their memory verse even better because of it!

Art & Music~

Today we experimented with a new art medium, watercolor pencils.

I let EK and SJ have the first turn and they loved it~

Piano Lessons~

I am always reading blogs and looking for new ideas in teaching our kids.

This past week I happened upon Homeschooling Hearts and Minds to find her kids are taking piano lessons online.

I pinned it to my wall and thought I would come back to it when the time was right.

EK has expressed an interest in lessons but to be honest... expenses with adoption keeps us from doing extracurricular activities.

Scott will be the first to tell you I am forever moving things around in the house and this week I have been simplifying the school room.

I actually moved the piano across to the other wall (outside one... gasp) and I guess it made EK think about piano lessons again.

I decided to give the online lessons a try~

 EK caught right on and that sparked SJ into the action... then Evie... then the boys. :)

Here are the girls after their first lesson.

 They are already asking if they can have their next lesson.

Praying this continues and they play like Lydia Burgess one day!!!
