In addition to the team chores we have going on here weekly~
{Post HERE: Sparkle Jars}
I found there were things I needed help with Daily~
SO I created a Daily Sparkle Jar and each child picks one chore each day to keep mom on the happy side. :)
Would you believe the favorite is the Calla stick?
(Being her personal assistant for the day... I know! Brilliant!)

Sparkle Jars~
I have never been a chore chart person because it is just something else to keep up with but I am finding without a system, most of the housework is falling on me.
NOT good! Can't do it all.
I saw an IG post of someone using sticks for chores and threw my own spin on it.
I wrote initials on one end and a check on the other along with 5-6 chores for each dynamic duo~
Then I placed them in a Sparkle Jar representing out our house (when clean) sparkles~
They are to pick as a team one chore each day to complete then flip the stick to checked~
At the end of the week if all sticks are checked, they have the weekend off and earn their weekend movie!
So far, it is working like a charm and I have less work on myself.
AND I am raising responsible little humans to be successful adults!!!

Fun Friday~ {Writing, Chores, & Field Trip}
Today for our Friday Routine we finished breakfast, threw the dishes in the sink
and went to the schoolroom for one activity~ Writing.
We read over the ideas we listed this week about Egypt~
And they all verbally told me what they learned.
They grabbed their journal to record their knowledge~
Ella shared the book {we have had forever but never picked up} with me
and all the cool stuff she found about what we have been learning~

Short, sweet, and meaningful.
Okay NOW to the New Routine: Friday Chores...
Each twosome headed to their rooms to Organize and Tidy
then they dusted and vacuumed~
{I worked on our room and the living spaces}
The big girls and boys both cleaned their bathrooms too.
I worked right along beside them and our house was clean in about an hour and half.
The bitties mostly just played, organized, played, organized. :)
As I finished all of the things I needed to do, the kids watched another Egypt documentary.
After lunch I looked over to find Evie dangling for the counter rinsing dishes
and loading them into the dishwasher.
Now our house is clean for the weekend
and we can't wait to celebrate Will Perry and my dad's birthdays!!!
After rest today we took a little 15 minute trip to visit the Georgia Guidestones~
SO cool that we recognized Egyptian hieroglyphics on the capstone
and the kids could read some of the letters~
Double cool to take their photo in front of the stone with Chinese writing on it~
A sweet couple was visiting and asked if she could take our photo!!!~
It was a fun outing and even Macy got to go!

The Checklist is Working!!!~
Sarah Mckenzie shared an idea on The Simple Show of writing out a checklist
of things to do for each child so they know exactly what needs to be done on a given day.
She went on and on about the success of it so I gave it a try with EK and SJ~
Brilliant and working so wonderfully!!!
The other practice I see making our days begin with a positive flair
is just having everything out and ready to go~
One thing on the list is reading a book.
Today SJ asked if she could WRITE something to read...
OF course!!!~
For the K girls I am using Before Five in a Row and this week we are reading Ask Mr. Bear.
I am finding all the kids want to listen and why shouldn't they!!!
After reading today they matched where some of our food comes from~
The big kids are using Five in a Row and a new book was just added: The Tree Lady
and we LOVE this story!!!
Today we learned all about the state of California~
AND just like the bigs listen to the K story... the K girls are listening to the big book too.
I see that being a very WIN win for all six of the kids!!!
Another item on the checklists is a chore for that day.
Today it was cleaning their bathroom.
I have spent time teaching and cleaning the bathroom beside the girls~
and today they taught the boys!
The best part of the checklist is checking off each item
and knowing a job well known~
