Calla & China~

Calla seems to always be near so she gets more photo time.
Today she found a dinosaur egg (rock) in the backyard~

 And she drew herself riding on a horse :)

Today was Mid Autumn Moon Festival in China and we just happened to be working on our China study
so we watched a few China documentaries~

 and combined our cooking project from Farmer Boy of pumpkin pie
with moon cake for Moon Festival
and came up with Pumpkin Harvest Moon Cookies~

They were delish and we went out to watch the moon come up.
It was a wonderful celebration day!!!

Families all over China gathered together for their sort of thanksgiving. 

If for some reason a member could not make the journey, 

Those families gazed at the moon and remembered each other. 

I can't help but wonder if 6 families looked up tonight 

and thought about the beautiful children they blessed with life~

There are no words to describe the magnificent Privilege

 we have to be on the receiving side of those brave families. 

Tonight we lit a lantern and sailed it up into air 

as a reminder of their great sacrifice and our great gift. 

Sounds like a very familiar story of God's love. 

John 3:16 

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son 

that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. 

None of us deserve a single blessing we have but 

God loved us even before we were born and gave His Son to die for us. 

God has loved our family SO extravagantly in allowing us to be our children's forever family

And there is no doubt He is preparing them for destiny in His Love. 

There are SO MANY children waiting for their Forever!!!

Look at our children and pray if your child might be waiting for you to find them. 

Please let me pray for you!

Happy Autumn Moon Festival~

The Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival features the beautiful idea that we all see the same moon.

On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, people gaze at the moon and think of their loved ones far away, who might also be gazing at the same moon.

I like to think maybe my five sweet ones have mothers and fathers gazing up hoping they are well and safe~

I certainly gazed up and thought of their birthparents and how thankful I am to be their forever momma!!!

We kept our celebration low key with an all American hotdog and dessert of Moon Pies!

The girls stayed up long enough to see the moon... actually they saw it before I did.
