Once upon a time two boys lived @ Shepherd's Field in China together... foster brothers sharing a house, room, and spending pretty much all their life together.
A month or so ago, Greyson's mom Kim sent me a text to ask if we lived near Anderson, SC as they were coming to a football Jamboree... YES~ only 30 minutes away. We both squealed that we might be able to see each other during the trip. As time grew near, we decided she and the little kids would stay the night here while Greg and big boys would go to Jamboree. I think our greatest anticipation was to see how the boys reacted to each other... after all, it had been 18 months since we had left with WP. Last night as they came face to face it was as if they were meeting each other for the first time~
But in no time it was like they were right back where they had left off... kind of like subconsciously they still knew each other. It was the sweetest thing to watch and witness!
Today was a day full of playing and more playing~
Our kids just clicked and got along so well~
And the friendship between me and Kim is nothing short of God planned. How do you get past losing a child in the adoption process?
Celebrate the miracle of God's 'BETTER' plan for His orphaned babies and in the midst He blesses us with an amazing friendship.
Today as we were saying our goodbyes, I scooped Greyson into my arms and tears slipped from my eyes... happy tears that he has his forever~
A Forever family and a forever brother!
A sweet reunion!!
Already looking forward to our next time!

I am literally sobbing!!!!
ReplyDeleteI bet these two will be lifelong friends. My Chinese daughter and her bedmate from the orphanage were adopted together in the same travel group and 15 years later still keep in touch as young adults; a beautiful God thing!
ReplyDeleteNow you have me crying! How wonderful that these boys can stay in contact with one another and as time moves on can be a support for one another when they may question their past. Adoption is truly a miracle!
ReplyDeleteDear Sharon, I have known Kim and her family for several years now. It's amazing to read your side of the story, as we were praying for them through both of their Chinese adoptions. How precious is our Lord, to allow your WP and Greyson to reunite! Praise Jesus! May He continue to bless you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI love this! The little guy we are adopting is at SF now and he is often in pictures with two little boys. I'd love to keep them in contact. Loved this post! And also loved your friend's orange Africa orphan t-shirt. I'd love to know where she got it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful reunion Sharon. So happy they were able to be together once again. I too have tears in my eyes.

What a blessing for both of them to be with their forever family and that they still get to see each other. So wonderful!!!!!! A couple we traveled with in China only live 3 hours away and our daughters are from the same orphanage, and God has formed a sweet friendship with them. :)
