September Schooling~

We have continued out Ancient Study which included Egypt, so we made cool pyramids~

We also painted world maps~

Calla and Evie found this Katydid and brought it in to observe~

We sketched and wrote about it in our journals~

Written narrations of what they were reading~

Morning Work around the table~

My dad Pop brought Ella some bullfrog tadpoles to raise and release in the lake~

We are reading Grammarland, and I put Ella in charge of recording 3 nouns per child on the board~

We love Mobi tiles for math play~

We use the bananagrams for word work too~

Our Sumblox are a favorite too~

Vocabulary and sight word practice is so fun when we get to throw big pompoms into a basket if we know it~

I work on sight words with the little girls in lots of different ways. We look for them in every thing we write in our journals~

The weather started to cool down so we took school outside~

More math games and CM math~

We continue to LOVE Fine Arts Fridays, and this day we got to use our new chalk pastels~

To illustrate The Road Not Taken~

Another great thing I like to do with the kids is write memories from photos we print~

Sketching The MET in NY while we listen to The Mixed Up Files~

Then watched an interview by one Brandon Mull, the author of a favorite series called Fablehaven~

A part of the nature shelf~

ALL the wonderful things we did for school at the beach~

And look at the cute peg dolls we have to play with now~
September was a wonderful month, and we are looking forward to cooler days!!!
