SJ, The Seamstress~

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Completely amazed that I overheard SJ say one day she would like a sewing machine.

Went out on a limb and ordered one from Amazon for Chirstmas and she LOVES it!
Amelia and I spent about an hour with her Christmas morning teaching her the basics of using the machine
And she has sewn pockets, jewelry bags, babydoll clothes, and sunglasses/phone cases.

She even invited Aunt Susan over to teach her during Sewing School. ;)

Today I mentioned she might want to hem the edges for a more finished look as if someone bought in a store...

Her response was priceless~ "I don't want it to look they bought it. I want it to look like I made it!"

Well okay then... She's got her own style.

Christmas 2014~ {The Best}

Sunday, December 28, 2014

Our Christmas morning always begins with our kids gathered on the stairs
and this year it was around 7~
 Everyone took off to the sunroom where gifts were waiting for the great reveal~
  It sure was sweet to watch HollyMei experience her first Christmas~
I think they were all very thankful for the surprises they received~
 Right after lunch, Savannah, Josh, and Ben Curtis arrived and we opened gifts with them~
 The littles were SO excited about their new parachute~
 Just like HollyMei, we LOVED watching Ben Curtis enjoying Christmas with his aunts and uncles~
 Aunt Susan came over for a little while
and we were thrilled to have Jessica and Peter home from Texas~
 Wasn't long before my parents, Marcia's family,
and Jason's family all arrived to fill our home with great love~
 Great food eaten, more gifts opened, and lots of photos were taken~
 We couldn't get enough of Ben Curtis!!!~
 Getting family photos was a highlight~
 {missed daddy since he went home sick}
Just a beautiful FULL day of LOVE all the way around!
{Only 365 days until next Christmas as my littles say}

Luke 2:14
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

Christmas Eve~ {New Tradition}

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

Because lots of chaos tends to make 'some' overstimulated
(too many presents opened at one time),
we decided opening presents with Memommy and Pop
at their house with just us was the way to go.
Everyone got something to wear and play with~
 It was such a fun time opening things we could play with throughout the day~
*marble run
*911 phone
*Dr kit
*Osmo game for Ipad
A New Tradition for Christmas was the best!
Thank you Memommy and Pop!!!
Can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!

A Special Gift~

Monday, December 22, 2014

The littles think this gift~
is the sweetest under the tree and we can't WAIT for Christmas with him!!!
AND... I bought this little game for the little littles~
to play on long winter nights~ a BIG hit!!!
Helping pass the time waiting for Christmas!

Thrill of Hope~ {NewSpring Church}

Sunday, December 21, 2014

Our church NewSpring is celebrating Christmas through the weekend until Wednesday evening.
IF you are close and can make it, you HAVE to go!
We kept our normal time so our kids would experience the familiar~
It was a beautiful morning celebrating!!!
My mom came down to love on the littles
while Scott and I went back in the evening with our big girls/friends~
 Scott and I loved experiencing the celebration with our 'adult' kids~
 Certainly put everyone in the Christmas spirit~
Merry Christmas!!!

Happy 6 Months Forever HollyMei~ {on Tuesday}

Friday, December 19, 2014

Six months with HollyMei...
Seems like she's always been with us~
 Full of personality yet quiet and calm.
Before HollyMei came home, Evie followed the boys everywhere they went
but now she is SO happy to have her BFF with her all the time!
She and Evie are the best of friends and completely act like sisters/TWINS~
HollyMei is talking up a storm now and repeats everything said...
especially Evie who has had a beautiful influence on her.
{Favorite question: Is dat funny?}~
It really is a miracle how God chose her for our family so perfectly.
Such a precious blessing in our family and we couldn't love her more.
Happy 6 Months Forever HollyMei!!!

Merry Christmas from Ankerich Academy~

Today was the last school day for Ankerich Academy of 2014
and we celebrated with sweet books~
 and declared it our Christmas Party Day {aka cookie making}~
 Rosie asked afterwards if it was a big mess?~
 Yes a big one but more importantly... Big Memories~
They couldn't have loved making and decorating more...
now if we can just save one for Santa. :)
Signing off for 2014...
Merry Christmas from Ankerich Academy!!!

A Star Shining in the Night~

Thursday, December 18, 2014

This week we have pretty much done our normal school work with a small 'booktivity' afterwards.
Today we read Little Porcupine's Christmas spotlighting the Christmas Star
and sang Do You See What I See.
For art I pulled out our Starry Night poster as well as tons of supplies~
I drew with them as we recreated our our versions and imagined what it must have been like
that night in Bethlehem when Jesus was born under The Star~
 I have found just letting them be free to create as they wish really brings out their personalities~
 as well as their own need for individual techniques (Evie=More)~
I think we have some Van Goghes on our hands!!!

Matt 2:1-2
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magia from the east came to Jerusalem 2and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Enjoying this Holiday Time~

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Board gaming~
 and taking little rides around the house on Duplo cars they made~
and spending most of the day in pjs.
Enjoying this Holiday Time!!!
