Trick or Treating~

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Payne and Evie definitely thought their first experience with ToT was SO fun.
We always go to my mom and dad's first and this year was just SO sweet.
They were greeted by my mom and she just covered them in love... like she always does right? big girls?~
She had big goody bags waiting for them and they loved it.
We met Jason, Amy, and the kids there since we always ToT with them {our tradition!}~
Look at those adorable boy cousins!!!
And thanks to Amy we got this awesome big group photo... just missing the 6 big grandchildren and 1 greatgrand!!!~
 My 5 LOVE their 3 cousins!!!~
After my parents' house we made our way to Aunt Susan's neighborhood for ToT~
Along the way we met up with Evie's BFF from China~ Lily Hope {Sweet!}.
Such a great night of fun and home in bed by 8:30!
Now the REAL fun can begin!!!

Dress Up Day {Halloween}~

Halloween is such an exciting day for kids so why fight it?
Decided to use the excitement in my favor
and have everyone dress in their costume first thing this morning...
To get photo shoot done of course and they did not disappoint!!!
Real camera shots on Everything Beautiful!

We were so excited to have Addie and Slate over today~
After he went down for nap, we dressed, went out for photos, and then back in for a little cooking:
Thumpkin Pumpkin Pies.
See the vote below~
Most were not a fan of the pumpkin pie filling! Ha!
Clearly Payne and Evie didn't go with the majority. :)

I printed everyone's costume photo and we added them to our journals~
A great memory recorded!
And last but not least we found books that went with all the costumes and read every single one~
EK: Wizard of Oz {Dorothy} ~watching movie for rest
SJ: {Unicorn}~ Goldilicious
PC: {Knight}~ The Knight and the Dragon
WP: {Pirate)~ How I Became a Pirate
EC: {Ladybug}~ Shaoey and Dot.... tears while reading. :)

And this is just the beginning...
have a feeling I will crash come bedtime.
Dress Up Day... Halloween~ A GREAT Day!!!

Halloween Portraits~

Last night Rosie and her friends dressed up like Biker Girls and headed to Fuse @ NewSpring for worship~

As I shot photos of the littles this morning, I began to think back to all the Halloweens with the Bigs.
Couldn't stand it so went up and grabbed their albums to have a little TBT fun~
 What precious memories!!!
Remember all these fun times Big Girls???

I decided I would incorporate our Halloween Portraits into our day instead of fight the excitement.
A group was my first shots~
When EK spotted an adorable basket with little dog inside at Target, her mind was made up to be Dorothy~
SJ is in love with all things Unicorns and Alicorns thus her adorable costume~
Payne really likes the show Mike the Knight so I ordered his costume
and book {The Knight and the Dragon} from Amazon~
WP is crazy about Jake and the Neverland Pirates and I think he makes a pretty cute Jake~
I'm pretty sure all the girls have been a Ladybug at one time or another and isn't this the cutest one ever?~
I'm thankful to have these photos done so we can concentrate on trick or treating tonight~
 Oh... and the candy!!!
Happy Halloween!!!

Wonderful Wednesday {Pumpkin Carving Day}~

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

Today we took a field trip through the book A Day at the Pumpkin Patch and learned all about the pumpkin life cycle.
After all our regular school stuff was done,
we headed out to carve our pumpkin~
Everyone tried to pick it up but just couldn't do it.
We weighed it and would you believe it weighed exactly the same as Evie? Ha

Next we labeled the parts we could see: stem, rind, ribs, and blossom end. Next we measured how tall it was and also the stem. We estimated the number of ribs then counted. EK measured the circumference too~
Then it was time to start the carving...
we cut the lid and everyone dug in {except Evie who kept saying oooo because of the smell} and Payne decided it was ok after a little while watching.
EK has been learning about adjectives in language so we made a list of describing words as we pulled out the pulp/seeds.
SO much fun separating the seeds so we could bake/eat later!
We made a list of possible faces... Evie was the deciding vote of Happy~
She did not come near us much as we cleaned but was very curious once the face started to take form.
She even pulled out the nose {Huge courage!}.
We named him Jacko, made our pic, and came in to bake the seeds.
EVERYONE {big deal} LOVED them!!!
Wonderful Wednesday~ Our Jack-o-lantern is ready for Halloween!!!

Powderpuff Game~

This time last year Rosie had just had knee surgery and was home recovering~
This year she was SO excited to play in the Powderpuff Game as a defensive back?~
We were all so excited to be in the stands cheering on the Senior Team!
It was SO fun watching for Rosie to be on the field~
With halftime homecoming being the most entertaining part... CJ was escorted by Rosie... cute huh?
Just look at these beautiful Seniors~
HOW in the world can it be?
Seniors won the game and all is well in their world...
then they were off for a big Mexican meal with all their friends.
Powderpuff Games are short and fun!!!

Lifeline Fall Festival~

Monday, October 28, 2013

Adoption families gathered for the Lifeline First Annual Fall Festival Reunion.
We enjoyed a great lunch and games for the kids~
I think the best thing about it was being able to talk and share
with other families doing exactly what we do every single day.
It was also so cool to see many of the children we have prayed for...
now in their forever families~
We ALL had a great time and look forward to next year when we have sweet Abby home!!!
Thankful for Lifeline helping us bring home three of our precious blessings!!!

Saturday Fun~

Saturday, October 26, 2013

We traveled to Lifeline's Ga Fall Festival~
A fun time! More tomorrow... Worn slap out!

Bulldogs are #1 {Still}~

Friday, October 25, 2013

The scoreboard may not have agreed but Bulldogs are STILL #1!
Tonight they played in one of their biggest rival games.
During this past week, the Bulldogs were in the Fox5 team of the week contest
and they WON with over 450,000 votes.
The most ever.
Because they won, Fox5 came to Hartwell on Thursday for a community pep rally.
Rosie was up early and out the door to cheer on her team~
AND just look... on tv several times!!!
The last photo was tonight during the game!
Yay for Rosie~ our #1 cheer leader
and Bulldogs are STILL #1 to us not matter the score!
Go Mighty Bulldogs!!!

Fun Friday {Leaves}~

Today was all about leaves.
We read Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert brainstorming things we could create with our own leaves.
We headed out to collect anything they could use for their nature masterpiece~
We found a great app called Leaf Snap that was able to help us identify all the leaves we chose.
As we learned the names, we labeled each one.
I gave them sticky paper and they began creating~
All flat items went between two pieces of sticky paper and then we added details with sweet gum balls, acorns, sticks, and pinecones with hot glue.
I did not help any of them... even Evie said, Do it myself. :)

We added a stick and ribbon and hung them in our sunroom.
SO beautiful with the sun streaming through each one~
SJ reminded me we always cook on FF so I shuffled around to come up with something.
Pretzels, bananas, and mandarin oranges... they made trees. :)
I read Scaredy Squirrel while they ate. Cute!!!

For Writing I printed a photo of their creation and they wrote about it in their journal~
For Math I just pulled out pattern blocks and we created various things.
Definitely one of our favorite days!!!

Sweet Baby Dove~ {A Boy!}

Thursday, October 24, 2013

Was sure celebrated at Iron Wok last night with our family.
We arrived to find Savannah and Josh already there with 'Reveal' cupcake boxes for everyone~
Savannah had us all wear the color we were thinking and it was pretty even I think.
We all sat at our spot for the 'Reveal' and you could just feel the excitement by all~
Inside we found yummy cupcakes with blue dots and the littles could not resist eating their's before dinner~
The excited parents sharing our grandson's name~
{named for Josh's dad, Benjamin and Scott's dad, Curtis}~
One big happy family with SO much joy now and to come.
We LOVED watching the DVD of Ben Curtis moving around~
Welcome to the family Sweet Baby Dove...

 Psalm 139:13-18
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

Sweet Baby Dove~

Leaf Art~

We LOVE Wonderful Wednesday because it's Art Day.

EK and SJ went out and collected some beautiful leaves with good veins for us to paint.
We began with Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf then onto the fun part~
Painting and Printing... made everyone so happy~
