Simple Sunday~

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Today we celebrated my grandfather's 97th birthday~
A sweet time for our family to gather in honor of a long, strong life!
Happy Birthday PaPa!!! We love you!

The rest of the day involved church, pool, picnic dinner, playing outside~
{littles reading their Bibles while I got ready, WP riding EC around}
Rosie has been going to youth with Hayden for the past year. She has fallen in love with Blake and Shae (youth pastor and wife) and they have loved her in return. Was looking SO forward to her senior year with them but God has bigger plans for their family. They have been called to work/serve with Lifeline Children's Services in Kentucky and will be moving Friday. Our family wishes their family all the best and they will be very missed!! God bless your new adventure and we plan to stay in touch!

27 Beautiful Years~

Friday, June 21, 2013

27 has been my favorite number since high school and today is our 27th anniversary... 27 beautiful years ago~
On June 21st, 1986 Scott and I began our forever as soul mates having NO IDEA what we were venturing into... a 21 and 24 year old... what do you know at that young age??? Many ideas but NO WAY to know the blessings that were ahead of us.

27 is a big number when it comes to anniversaries...
A big trip???
Yes, took that in January to China.
A big gift?
Ummm... Yes, 9 of them~ Our beautiful children.
There is Nowhere I would rather be and Nothing I would rather have than what is here and now.
We have certainly changed over the past 27 years~
But I wouldn't change a thing and only hope we have AT LEAST 27 more beautiful years together!!!
I LOVE you honey with all my heart!
Happy Anniversary!

A Pool Day~

Thursday, June 20, 2013

After school was all done this morning we headed to Ms. Sheryl's for a pool get together~
The kids had a GREAT time and Evie was out as soon as I strapped her into her carseat!
We came home for a little rest and then right back out to our pool for the rest of the day~
It is NO surprise that I LOVE Instagram and today they announced an addition of video!!!
Yay for the big girls~ I will keep you in the know~
Ended the day with grilled hotdogs by the pool. Lunch and dinner poolside... sweet summertime!

A Good Visit~

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

SJ and WP were adopted with CHD, TOF and BiCuspid Aortic Valve respectively. Each year they have their annual cardiologist appt and today was the day. We struck out a little after 7 and made it to the dr in plenty of time~
Scott surprised me to help with the littles and they did great. SJ got a perfect report and WP had a slight change in his progress... may need a procedure, possibly even surgery sometime in the nearer future than SJ. Both were released for another year and we left feeling very good about their visit. We couldn't be more blessed with our cardiologist, Dr. Wes Lindsey! Lunch @ Schlotzsky's and a Target run made our day just a little fun.

Cute story about SJ today... 'Usually when we have a major dr's appt I take them to Target for a little surprise. Today SJ asked if we would be going and I said probably. Then she said, "If we do REALLY good could we skip over all the dollar stuff and look in the real toy section?"
Haha that made me laugh out loud. Needless to say they got a new movie to watch in the truck on the way home. :)
They also all got new bubble blowers and boy did they have a ball when we were back home by the pool~
A Good Visit and very blessed day!!!

Just an Exra{Ordinary} Day~

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

~As I sat in The Word this morning, EK joined me and began her daily walk using her new bible.
~ We got back to school after our week off for vacation.
~ Amelia shot the photos of little flexible Evie.
~ The three monkeys that LOVE each other!
~ Like Evie's style?
~ LOVE from EK and SJ when I walked back into the kitchen after everyone was all tucked in...
they know and love me so well!!!

Monday~

My two Monday friends... Hard working!!! Enough said.

A Father's Love~

Sunday, June 16, 2013

Today was a celebration of all the fathers in our lives and celebrate we did!
EK gave her heart to Jesus Tuesday night while we were at the beach~
Today was also her baptism~
 {thank you Al for taking these photos for us!}
Our new Pastor Mike baptized EK. ALL the kids were here to share this sweet day with her. The boys were brave to go up on the stage to sing VBS songs and they weren't even there. :) EK's great grandfather (96 years old) preached today as well~
A very special day at our church, Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Then it was home to celebrate the father's in our family.
My 96 year old Grandfather and Mom~

I couldn't be more blessed to have the daddy I have~
as well as my mom and siblings!
The LOVE of these two amazing people~

Brought forth this GREAT family blessing~
I don't think we have ever taken a photo of the whole family including Papa until today... takes my breath away!

As I thought what I would write today about EK's special day and Scott's 23rd Father's Day, the song How Deep The Father's Love For Us came to mind...
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
Scott is the greatest example of The Father's Love for our children~
He is kind, loving, grace filled, gentle, funny, hard working, fun, diligent, sweet, and completely in love with his whole family! We are his priority and he always puts us first under God. He loves Jesus with all his heart and models The Father's Love for our children! He has said YES to every single one of these gifts from above and I am crazy about him!!!

EK has several fathers that have given her an amazing legacy...
Her Chinese father in the moment he could not keep her, chose life and allowed her the gift of another family,
Her Daddy in the moment of saying yes went to China to bring her home to her forever,
AND her Heavenly Father that chose her from all the many Chinese orphans in China to be our child and she came to know Him as her Lord and Savior FOREVER...
I will REALLY have her Forever because we will be together for eternity now. She has chosen her forever with Christ. The greatest decision she will ever make in all her life!!!
I CAN'T think of anything greater than your child giving her life to Christ on Father's Day.
I love you honey and wish you the happiest FD~
The afternoon was all about opening gifts, spending time with family, and swimming~
A VERY sweet day with family!!!

Home Sweet Home~

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I know I say this every time we go away but as wonderful as it is to go on a trip~
There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!
We rolled in about 5 this afternoon and SO glad to be back.
We look forward to a great day tomorrow as we celebrate
Father's Day, EK's baptism, and having ALL my family around me!!!

PCB Day 8~ {Last Day}

Friday, June 14, 2013

When the big girls were little they always made new friends on the last day we were at the beach and today the littles did the same thing.
EK met a couple of boys that were catching little fish~
They even caught tiny little sea snakes.
Having Savannah and Josh here has been so fun.
They LOVE for Josh to pick them up and Savannah to take them in the ocean~
It has been a super fun vacay but we are ready to get home just in time to celebrate Father's Day!!!
