Walk to the Park~

Today was a free day for us. We got up around 5:30, waited for PC to wake up, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast again. Always come back to FaceTime everyone then today we took a walk to a nearby park. It is amazing that right outside our 5 star hotel~
The View from our 18 story hotel window.
Amazing that we could actually see mountains surrounding the city.
Beautiful City.
we hit the jackpot for 'Real' day to day life in China.
We knew there was a park a couple of blocks behind our hotel but the to and from was the most fascinating
Here are a few shots in the park~

We ran into the two families that adopted boys from PC's orphanage. We stopped to talk and drew a crowd. So sweet how the Chinese people try to ask us questions or try their English out on us. :)

We were starting to get a little too cold... 17 degrees today... we headed back toward the hotel and enjoyed experiencing some of 'Real' China~

I know Scott and I say this every time we come to China but it has to be said again... a smile and even a head nod are the universal language in any place. China is no different. We met lots of people that didn't return the gesture but there were some that did. We LOVED it and reminds us how much we adore the people of China.

We had more than a few Chinese women stop and talk to PC/ask us questions. All we could do is say Mama/Baba over and over and smile. They smiled right back and we knew they thought PC was cute. We certainly do think so!
We made it back to the hotel for a light lunch in the room and rest time. PC crashed from his big morning and I had time to get these new photos up.

Things continue to go well with our little man. He is very friendly and happy. Probably a little too much but as most know, our China time is not the real deal... this is just the honeymoon of our forever. It will 'Real' up when we are home but for now we are loving on him with all our heart and making him know we are a family no matter what!
Thanks for the comments... they mean SO much!!!

  13. I LOVE the pictures of "real" China! How I would travel the world if I could! PC is SO cute! I wonder what he will think of EC. I would guess you are getting restless and ready to get moving so you can move toward home. Hang in there and enjoy this time of being able to focus on one child! Isn't that rare? After I get the seldom opportunity to spend some extended time with just one of mine, I realize how precious that is! Love you!!

  22. So enjoying "traveling" China with you this week!!! Thanks for taking us along!! LOVE all the pics! Wish I had taken more of real China when there. So brave to get out in the freezing cold, but you'll be glad you did and have all those fabulous pictures;)Payne will be too. "A little too friendly" reminds me SO MUCH of our Holly, we thought the same things, but she is a sheer delight to everyone she meets, always reminding ME a smile, a hug, and conversation are much needed in our culture today to brighten everyones days. If we were all a little more friendly and not so rushed and into ourselves. As parents we can channel that social butterfly spirit in safe ways. He will bring much joy to your family and those throught your days!!!!!!!:)And Scott appears to be having a ball with his new son

  24. So cute to see Scott showing Payne how things work at the park. Payne seems to love his Baba, who will soon have two little boys hanging all over him. So glad that all is going well with Payne. I love how toy cars and road tracks are a universal language for little boys. Hoping you are having another good day in China. Enjoy every minute!!
