Halloween {Trick-or-treating}~

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Trick-or-treating was on our mind all day so the time came to get everyone ready to go~
EK... box turtle, SJ... kitty, and WP... tiger~ My Darling Little Zoo. :)

Our first stop was Memommy and Pop's with Max & Addie~
They all walked away with great treats!

Next was our annual tradition in Susan's neighborhood and boy was it cold/windy~
Kids didn't seem to mind one single bit...
LOVED seeing them so excited and happy!!!

Halloween~

Today we did a hodge podge of activities:
Read several Halloween books, sang and learned lots about our skeleton, made a skeleton book, and our skeleton with Qtips~

Dad brought us a big bag of Halloween candy and we graphed it. We also created scary spider hats to wear~

LOVED having our cousin Karleigh to celebrate this fun Halloween!

Ivy Joy Update-

Diana here, having the privilege to scribe for my friend Mary again..... She wanted me to share that Ivy Joy was taken off the ventilator at 7:20pm and she has been sleeping since! So many reasons to rejoice over this great news.. While we are giving thanks, let's put at the top of the list an astute and amazing nurse and a compassionate surgeon who truly cares about their special patient!!

photo-31

Team Ivy - It's time to stand in the gap once again for our favorite patient!!!!!! Ivy is struggling to wake up.. Partially due to the heavy meds she has been on! There are two other tricky parts to this.. One her pace maker, and two her lungs... Can we storm the gates of Heaven together to ask God to help Ivy get over these obstacles... This baby has not had an easy go at it.. And, we are praying for the path to be cleared for her to HEAL!!!!!

Thank you for lifting up this amazing little girl.. And, don't forget her precious Mama too who is living this 24/7 and holding her breath for her tiny miracle to turn the corner towards a complete recovery!!!!

More soon!!!!

Blessings,

Diana

(For Mary)

A Hero~

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

To quote his precious daughter Stephanie, Judge Tony Welborn was A Hero to ALL who knew him.
You may remember back in May he won reelection for Chief Magistrate Judge by a landslide and we were all SO proud of him!
What you didn't know was the amazing battle he was fighting against cancer and last evening he was healed in heaven!
His family is doing awesome and we are spending lots of time together as family.
Tony was the Hart County Chief Magistrate Judge, he was Captain of the Hartwell Police Department from 1975 to 2009, member of the Hartwell Kiwanis Club, American Legion 109 and the Georgia Peace Officers Association. Tony was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Deacon, former Sunday School Teacher, Church Trustee, played with the Praise Team, and a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
We LOVE you sweet Tony and we will miss you beyond words~
Please pray for Susan, Jason & Melissa/kids, and Stephanie & Wade/kids during the next days and weeks.

Black Cats~

Monday, October 29, 2012

{Don't normally do anything witch but this story is more about the cat}
Very cute story and we made our very own pet black cats.
Later our very sweet neighbor brought over edible witch hats for dessert... perfect timing. :)

Leaf Fun~

School was done and out the door they went into the blustery wind~
To rake leaves and jump into them over and over and over.
Lots of Leaf Fun!!!

Simple Sunday~

Sunday, October 28, 2012

I woke up with a migraine and this is what happened while my head was covered on the sofa~
Mess or masterpiece?
I heard it all and was thankful they were enjoying themselves. :)
Feeling much better!!!

Please keep Susan and Tony, kids in your prayers today... very hard days right now!!!

Pumpkin Patch Day~

Saturday, October 27, 2012

All littles were fast asleep quickly last night so today would come quickly... Pumpkin Patch Day. We loaded the car and read a book on the way (planning to print our pics and make our own book)~
We met Jason, Amy, kids, and mama there. It was so surreal to think back to last year when we would be leaving in just days to get WP and here he was today~
Everyone LOVED Hardy Berry Play Patch: animals, tennis ball shooting, animals, jumping, swinging, car racing, animals~
After lots of playing, we boarded a hayride to the pumpkin patch to choose the perfect pumpkins~
Loved that WP chose a green one~
Next was a huge slide and back to the car~
Thank you Memommy for a GREAT Pumpkin Patch Day!!!
We LOVE you so much!!!

Fun Friday~ Pumpkin Day

Friday, October 26, 2012

Scott and I had planned to take the littles to pumpkin patch today but after checking times found out it opened at 5pm... NOT the ideal time for little ones to be pumpkin picking.
SO plan B went into effect...
Scott ran to Walmart and chose a BEAUTIFUL pumpkin ($7) for...
Pumpkin Day!
We grabbed it right away and headed to the school room:).

First it had to be named~ everyone agreed on Bumpy and for some reason they all wanted to take a ride~
We all made observations and recorded them on a language chart.
The next step was weighing each of us and Bumpy... then lining up in order of weight. Love that they noticed it was with age as well.
Everyone guessed how long a string would need to be for circumference of Bumpy but we were all off~
By this time everyone was getting a little hungry so we measured how tall he was with unifix cubes and were off to make 'Jack o' Bunuelos' with tortillas, butter, cinnamon sugar, and orange sugar. They loved 'carving' their own pumpkins~
When tummies were full, we headed out for pumpkin carving~
EK and WP LOVED pulling out the pulp... SJ NO way! She did pull the eyes, nose, and mouth out but grabbed a towel right away. LOL
Love the photo of them holding Bumpy.
Everyone excited to light him up tonight and let him shine.

A Miracle Baby-

Thursday, October 25, 2012

A lot of you have prayed with me for sweet Ivy Joy and I just want to share her latest miracle-

Her second open heart surgery in 6 months and as you will read on Mary's blog

her heart is PERFECT now! PTL!!!

Just can't stop looking at her... SO much like SJ and now you would never know she had been so sick.

God is SO good all the time!!! Please stop by to leave an encouraging word for sweet Mary. :)

Pumpkin Crazy-

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

We read Pumpkin Town today discussed all the things that could really happen and what was make believe. Everyone was excited to make their own stuffed pumpkin to hang-

I had a stash of foam pumpkin letters and they each searched for the letters in their name (super easy for EK but she loved helping her sibs). Last photo of our pumpkin display this week!

Christmas is just 9 weeks away~

And wouldn't you like to help bring home two little ones
while getting some of your shopping done? GREAT!
Please consider ordering very cute tee shirts  for your loved ones @ Wild Olive.

It's SO easy... just click on image above and look through the tees offered. Make your selections and when checking out, add our FAMILY CODE ANKERICH927 as the coupon code so we get credit for the sale. It would also be a great idea to add the code in the comment section when ordering. This code does not reduce the price but allows company to keep track of the shirts we sell.

IF we sell 50 shirts, we make $10 per shirt.
Would LOVE to see that happen!!!

Please let me know if you have questions and blessings to all as you
Get you VERSE on!!!

A Glimpse~

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Into Rosie's day lately...
Crutches, icing bucket, motion machine, and physical therapy have consumed her day.
Today she went to school for a half day and did really well...
even made it to the powder puff game tonight with Hay and the Juniors rocked the stadium!!!
Can't wait to watch Rosie play next year when she is all healed and strong once again!
SO proud of you Rose... LOVE spending all this time with you!!!

Pumpkin Week~

Monday, October 22, 2012

Today we read one of my favorite pumpkin books...
The Pumpkin Patch Parable~
I pulled my pumpkin life cycle posters and we sequenced together~
Next they each made made a little book and read together.
LOVE that they all finished their book saying they are like a jack-o-lantern...
their face shining a light for Jesus.

Matt 6:22
The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

2 Cor 4:6
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Matt 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

A Good Day~

1. I voted early~

2. Amelia drove Rosie to PT today~

3. Family gathered aROUND for dinner~

A good day!!!

WP's Family Party~

Saturday, October 20, 2012

Was so fun! He was SO excited that after his nap everyone would be here to celebrate! Of course he wanted everything to be orange.
I'm not sure why he loves orange so much except it was the first color her learned to recognize. Susan and Tony stopped by to bring a gift~
Such a great evening with family enjoying a Mexican fiesta AND orange cupcakes!
Opening presents was SO fun... new crocs, orange Clemson shirt, orange hummer, water doodle, airplane, duplos, and helmet!

Rosie has been such a trooper... learning to use crutches, going up and down stairs, sitting around all day, icing her leg, wearing a very heavy brace... ALL with grace (just like her middle name).
SO proud of her!!!
Happy birthday WP~ you have made us ALL so very happy having you home to celebrate!!!

Rosie~

Friday, October 19, 2012

LOVED having a few friends drop by last evening to wish her well~

She is really doing great... couldn't ask for a better day.
Had a great night and was up bright and early for her first PT appt (2Xweek for 6 wks)~
(Sorry it's blurry... that's how bad my eyes are getting~ couldn't even tell).
Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. We are thankful the surgery is behind us and recovery coming right along!!

Rosie's Surgery~

Thursday, October 18, 2012

On her knee went very well this morning. We left home about 4:30 and she went into surgery @ 7. Every single dr and nurse was amazing and she couldn't have had a better experience.
Everyone commented on how happy and smiley she was... her first surgery, first IV, and first anesthesia... she rocked it!!! It was great to have Amelia there for support.
I took a few pics with my camera and more with my phone (easier). We were there until about 11:30 and then time to head home. She has rested on the sofa this afternoon (trying to stay ahead of the pain), had a few friends over, and hoping for a great night's rest!
SO very thankful to have this behind us and pray for a healthy recovery before we go to China.
