24 Hours~

A beautiful number... why?
Last night, WP had been running a fever and coughing
for about 3 days and meds were not working.
When he went to sleep, we gave him motrin
but about 11:30, I awoke to his labored breathing and high fever.
And I mean HIGH fever~ 105.
Not gonna kid you~ even though I was praying my heart out,
I was very worried and knew we needed help.

I began texting Savannah and she talked to Dr. Morgan.
Her advice? Get to an ER.
I knew our hotel had a clinic and was thrilled when I opened
the book and saw they were open 24 hours a day!
I woke Scott up and we called the front desk.
They said, Bring him...
Here he was at 12:30 last night so sick.
They immediately put this cool patch on his forehead
to get his fever down... did not work.
The dr on call thought he heard Pneumonia and gave us meds.
We returned to our room about 1:30
and fitfully made it through the night
dosing the fever and applying cold clothes.
Dr told us to come back this morning to see pediatrician.

Got a call this morning to come back @ 9:30
and the dr diagnosed tonsillitis (strep) and bronchitis.
The best remedy???~
IV drip... yikes!
But before that they had to do 2 skin test with needles
to test for allergies since we have no history~
Just look at him lying in that big bed~

Then it was time for the IV~
We were SO thankful to have Elvin there
talking to WP in such a sweet way, encouraging him~
The nurses were SO nice and gentle with WP.
He felt quite safe with them~
After the trauma, he fell asleep for the majority of the hour~

Sweet Elvin stayed with us the whole time~

Woke up to eat a yummy snack Elvin went out and bought~

We couldn't have been more blessed
than to be here at the Garden near an amazing clinic
with the BEST guide!!!

Now back to the 24~
we are LESS than 24 hours from heading home.
Yay!!! Will be thankful to have WP home safe and sound...
not to mention the rest of us as well!
Thank you SO much for your prayers~
they were felt and a sweet peace fell on us.
Blessings and love from China!

Phil 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  12. How scary for you and it must have been terrifying for WP!

We had Elvin as our guide in 2008 and he was wonderful. You have been in good hands on your trip with him as your guide.

Best wishes and prayers as you come home. I know you will be so relieved when you are finally back in the US.

  14. I am so, so sorry that Will Perry has been so sick. I know your momma's heart hurts for him. I pray today he is feeling better. You've got prayer warriors near and far praying for him and your family.

Your spirit of hope and optimism is such an encouragement and you are an amazing example of someone with incredible faith. I probably would have been wallowing in a pit of self pity in this situation but you are shining Jesus right and left.

    Praying you safely home!

    Love~

  15. So sorry to hear about WP. I totally understand what you are going through! It is so difficult to see them having to go through all of that on top of everything else that they are dealing with. So glad that he has his family there to love on him and make him feel secure. Praying for WP to recover quickly and for strength for you all!!

  16. Thank the Lord for the clinic and that He was there to heal your little guy!! That is not a good thing to have your children (or yourself) sick in a foreign country! Two of my bigs were sick last time, and it was during the big swine flu epidemic. I was so scared the officials would quarantine us! But God got us safely through like your little Will. I can't believe you are a day away from home!!! Yeah. What an amazing journey. Will is just about the sweetest cutest little guy ever!!

    Prayers and HUGS!
