The Climber and Sick Littles

Monday, January 31, 2011

Just in the last couple of weeks,
we have noticed we have a little climber on our hands.
These are a few of the places I found her today.
She's quite the acrobat.

And yes, I was close by and in the same room.

Now we have two sick littles~
thankfully we have meds for SJ too
and hoping they are both on the road to recovery.
Here they are both taking a breathing treatment
and SJ looks as if she is praying for it to be over. :)

Is It Spring?~ Sunday Snapshot

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Nooooo, but it sure has felt like it this weekend~
70 degrees both days...
just three weeks ago we had about six inches of snow on the ground.
Really makes me excited for warm weather.

EK found these 'flowers' in our front yard! :)

The littles are under the weather
but I thought getting outside for some fresh air
might just be what the doctor ordered.
To say they had fun is an understatement.

I have a sweet blogger friend Lisa that wrote the sweetest post
about the closeness her two daughter share~
I too am SO thankful our two girls have each other forever...
they are fine on their own
but SO much happier and stronger when they are together.
Both have made big strides since becoming sisters.

Have I shared that the wedding ceremony is to be in our front yard
and the reception in the back around the pool?
The plans we have been able to make and imagine look SO beautiful!!!

While the girls were playing,
Scott worked very hard in our front yard~
he added a little side wall of bricks down the side of our sidewalk.
Looks SO great!!!
We were ALL so thankful for such a beautiful weekend
and are hoping for more very soon!!!

I'm So Excited!!!

Saturday, January 29, 2011

For some reason SJ noticed for the first time last night
her pjs had little girls on them.
SJ: What her name mama?
Me: She's a ballerina.
SJ: ShayleeJoy is a ballerina.
Me: ShayleeJoy wants to be a ballerina?
(Points to herself...)
SJ: Ballerina
SO when she woke up this morning,
she wanted to dress up like a ballerina~
went to the playroom, chose an outfit,
and called herself 'Ballerina' all morning. :)

And the reason
My printed Blog Books came today
and I LOVE them!!!!!

Every story I wrote for 2010 including:
SJ's referral, EK's 5th BD, Vacation,
Savannah's Engagement,
Rosie~Learner's Permit, SJ Day, Heart Surgery,
Amelia~ Homecoming Dance,
and all my 24 years of Christmases!!!
Plus tons more!
I couldn't be more thrilled with how they turned out
and know they will only increase in value
as the years pass away.
I'm more committed than ever to keep my blog going
and encourage each of you to do the same!!!

First Time Ever I Saw Her Face...

Friday, January 28, 2011

Five years ago today
we were all home from work and school
waiting for our match call from CCAI.

We were VERY blessed to have Jason there videoing the whole thing.

Scott called about eleven o'clock to see when they would call
and was told it would be anytime.
Around 11:30ish,
our phone rang and my heart dropped to my stomach.
We were about to hear all the details
about 'OUR' precious Chinese daughter way across the world
AND see her face for the first time!

I had my clipboard ready with many questions~
and then we heard the sweet voice of Dick Dietz from CCAI
as he read off all the details of our sweet girl...

Qian Shaung Jiang
10 months old
Waiting in Qianjiang SWI in Chongqing, China

we received the email of her precious face...
I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
The most perfect face I had ever seen since I saw Rosie for the first time. :)

We were ALL gathered around the computer...

Not long after, they sent us two more precious photos
that made us smile so much!!!
(Don't you love how they placed her just right
so the ears were coming out of her head?)

We couldn't be MORE blessed to love this precious girl~
and be completely blessed to be a forever family!!!

Happy Referral Day sweet
EllaKate ShuangJiang!!!

The Doctor is In

Thursday, January 27, 2011

EK has not been well all week
and finally today after developing a fever
to accompany the sneezing, sore throat, croup, and coughing,

we called...

One of the sweetest people we know
and just happens to be our pediatrician.
We have taken all the girls to her for 21 years now
and she is truly one of my sweetest friends!!!~
that's one of the reasons
we drive about an hour and 45 min one way to see her.
I can't let her go...
she knows and loves my children just like her own.

She cleans their ears every time we go...

and makes SJ feel so safe and secure.

She even let's the girls play with her real dr tools.

And we both think SJ
will grow up to be a doctor too! :)

EK was diagnosed with major bronchitis~
borderline pneumonia...
and advised to steer clear of church and other times
when we would be around lots of other children
as we wait for SJ's cath in February.
It is critical we keep her well!!!
I think we can handle that. :)

We love you Dr. Morgan and your whole staff!!!

Today was a day all moms look forward to...
seeing their daughters happy and excited!

The girls and I

went to...

to meet Amelia, Sarah, and Cyrise

to try on beautiful prom dresses and admire sparkly shoes.

Are thinking what I'm thinking???
A pair of twins...

LOVED every minute of this Fun Day~
and look so forward to seeing these two gorgeous girls
all dressed up and ready for THEIR Senior Prom
on March 26, 2011!!!

Out and About...

Monday, January 24, 2011

We were out and about
first thing this morning headed to Atlanta
to take EK for her dental cleaning.

She did GREAT!
Afterwards, I needed a few school things from here~

and decided to shoot a few photos to remember the day for EK~
(just look at that beautiful smile)

and to let everyone know we have an appointment
scheduled for SJ's heart cath on
Friday, February 11...
a very special day in her life's story.

we sent in our LOI(letter of intent) for this little baby
way across the world in Fujian, China.
Who would have guessed exactly one year later
she would be going back for her second heart procedure?

God has been with us every step of the way so far
and He is NOT going to leave us now.
Thank you for your prayers as we prepare for 2/11/11.

Psalm 126:3
The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with JOY.

A New American Citizen

Thursday, January 20, 2011

I can't believe I forgot to post
our newest little American Citizen...
SJ has no idea what this paper proves
but she sure is proud that her picture is on it.

When I asked her who that was on the certificate,
she said, "Poor JingJing, she's crying".
This photo was taken the day of her physical in China...
completely scared of all that was going on
and not at all happy and secure yet.

Here she is now~
think she's happy and secure???
I definitely think so!!!
AND she's an American Citizen!!!

I want to thank every single person that is praying
for our sweet girl!!!
Thank you for all the kind and uplifting comments.
We are still waiting to get the call of when this will happen.
God already knows it all~
I'm trusting Him completely
and embracing every moment whole heartedly!!!

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving present your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Thank you Cathie for this scripture today!)

My Baby Jing... B&W Wednesday

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Exactly 4 months ago last Monday,
my baby Jing had open heart surgery to repair her little TOF heart.

We were barely home 3 days when she had a Tet spell
and forced us into a tailspin while completely jet lagged.

Looking back on it all,
God's timing was SO perfect.

We had not been home long enough
for Jing to be comfortable in her new home
or to know her new sisters very well
or to really know exactly what this new life was all about.

So for us to go right into surgery was probably the perfect timing~
definitely God's timing.

It was such an extremely emotional time for us all.
We had just fallen in love with our precious new daughter~
one who had lost all familiar to her,
one that knew hardly any English,
or who she could trust
or why this lady who had been taking care of her
would let all these strange people do all these mean
things to her.
A very hard, stressful time for us all!!!

For the last 4 months we have been under the care of a wonderful cardiologist~
Dr. Lindsey @ Sibley Heart Center.
We knew coming out of surgery there was a problem with Jing's pulmonary arteries
and would be watched very closely.
For the last 4 months when we saw Dr. Lindsey,
he had very good news for us...
heart looked great and getting stronger and arteries growing.

Until yesterday...
(I just loved this photo of Jing as she sat on Dr. Lindsey's stool with her little feet crossed.)

Her left artery is growing but her right is a little more blocked
and Dr. Lindsey is sending us back to Egleston for cardiac catheterization.
What does this all mean?
She will go under while they run a wire to her heart
and decide what needs to be done~
balloon, stint, or surgery???

SO what's different this time?
She IS comfortable at home,
extremely attached to her sisters,
understands everything we say to her,
talks up a storm,
trusts me and Scott with all her heart,
wants mommy to kiss all her boo boos,

remembers how scared she was when she was in the hospital,
will know exactly why we are at the hospital when we drive in,
will beg me not to take her in,
and I will have to make her do it anyway.
I don't want her to have to go through this all again
but SO thankful we are blessed to have such a wonderful doctor
who cares so much for our precious little girl...
one who is showing us the way to a healthier little heart.
We are waiting to hear when we will be going...
please join me in praying for every person God will use to help little JingJing. :)
May God be glorified every step of the way.

Psalm 29:11
The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.

Our Last Holiday

Monday, January 17, 2011

It seems like we have been on holiday
for about a month now...
other than 3 days in school~
I guess that's just about correct.
Scott was off work today too so we decided a family outing was in order...
to watch the Gym Dogs in Athens.

The girls had such a great time together!!!

We were able to see Suzanne, Sarah Ellen, Grace Anne, and Emily.

I also ran into a sweet FB/blogger friend Robyn today~
she recognized Scott but couldn't place him until she saw me...
we both agreed the adoption community is such a special connection.
We both have babies from China with TOF
and have been through surgery for both @ Egleston.
It was so sweet to actually meet each in person!!!

It was the BEST day spent with these precious girls!!!

Wondering where Savannah was???
One word: RUSH...
I'm sure photos will post on her blog very soon!!! :)
