Hard Work!

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

My brother Jason is working long, hot, hard days
on the farm right now.
He is cutting corn from sunup to sundown.
My mom called today and wanted us to come up and shoot some photos.
My dad can't remember when the corn was so tall!
Amelia took these shots of Jason driving the silage chopper
cutting the corn that will be fed to the dairy cows.
Hard Work!!!

Scott Kelby's Photowalk in Greenville, SC

Monday, July 26, 2010

Saturday I stepped out of my comfort zone of being home
and drove to Greenville for the Scott Kelby PW.
I met my new friend Ellie
and we followed photographers around
asking them a million questions
and shooting lots of things that caught our eye.
I am not really a landscape photographer...
would much rather shoot people,
but Greenville had so much charm and lots to capture with my lens.

Here are a few of my favorites!

And my Favorite!

It was just the best day enjoying my favorite hobby,
hanging out with a sweet friend,
and making a NEW one!!! :)

We could be off to get ShayleeJoy by the third or fourth week of August!!!
So far yet so close!!!
Come on TA~ Surprise me!!! :)

Thankful Thursday: Good Times!

The girls and I had some really sweet friends
(Lynn & Ellie) plus kids over for a swim on Thurs.
Marcia, my sister was in town with her kids
and Amy came over with Max.
Time spent together around the pool keeping cool
in summer is the best!
We loved having you ALL!!!

Black & White Wednesday: My Girls

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

We took a day trip to see Savannah in the new shop...
The Embroidery Shop
right on the town square.
She was so cute working at the counter
and helped us with some very darling items.
We met the owners and everyone that works there...
ALL so nice!!!
I could not be more thankful that she has such a wonderful place
to spend her days and earn her keep while away at college.

Tia's 4th Birthday

Friday, July 16, 2010

There's a song...

Make new friends and cherish the old ones,
One is silver and the other gold.

EK and I were so excited to spend a day with both such friends.

The girls had a little warming up to do
but once the ice was broken,
they were the best of friends.
Both big and little girls hated to see the day come to an end.

It was so wonderful to celebrate Tia's 4th birthday~
her first in the United States.

A day in pics...

The Pool was SO fun!

The beautiful birthday Princess Tia!

Adorable Olivia!

A Candle Lighting

One of the reasons I didn't post on my blog,
or update my status on FB,
or tweet the news of Savannah and Josh was... the candle lighting.

Candle 1

I had already written a post to share
but as soon as S&J opened the door to our hotel room that night,
one of the first things she said to me was...
Mom you can't put this on the blog or FB!

candle 5

I knew there was a very good reason.
She had to have the candle lighting with her sweet Phi Mu sisters.

candle 3

So we celebrated her birthday and the engagement
for the next 3 days waiting for Monday.
Baileigh was able to text all the sisters to say
someone had gotten engaged
and there would be a lighting Monday afternoon.

candle 4

As soon as the text went out...
Savannah's phone went CRAZY!!!
Is it you???? everyone wanted to know.

candle 2

A few of her sisters were able to be there~
most were home or away from school for summer.
Savannah hid in a nearby restaurant so they wouldn't know it was her.
She ran out at the last minute
and blew out the candle that they were passing around the circle.
Everyone surprised and happy!!!

ps I wasn't there... Savannah had someone take all these with her phone. :)
