The End of the Road

Amelia's tennis team made it to the sweet 16 this week. We all traveled out to Decatur to play Saint Pius at a tennis center. Our girls fought hard and played big- they didn't win but gave it their whole heart. We were all so proud of them!!! It was a wonderful season and we all had a ball!

The Pool is Open for Summer!!!

We opened the pool this weekend and it is so cold- but does that stop the girls from getting in? No... Amelia was the first in Saturday to help clean it and EK wasn't far behind. Some of the kids swam Saturday evening and then again on Sunday. Today all the girls are out basking in the sun while EK plays in the COLD water... 67 degrees. I LOVE looking out to see the pool and thinking of all the wonderful memories we will make as a family this summer!

Here they are as I type... what could be better than coming home from school for a dip in the pool? Savannah's friend Baileigh is spending the week with us!!!

Tony is 60!!!

We were blessed to host a surprise party planned by Susan for Tony's 60th birthday. He was completely surprised by about 50 people- all who love him very much!!! We had a great spread of BBQ and all the fixings. Here are a few pics from the night.

Surprise! Tony!!!

My First Blog Award @ Sew Shay

I was so surprised to open a comment from a sweet new friend at Whimsy by Victoria. I received my first blog award! So excited to have this award on my blog! Thank you Victoria!!! Make sure to stop by her blog as well- she is an amazing Interior Designer and has such a great blog!

Attitude of Gratitude AwardI am so grateful to have this blog to share the things I sew while waiting to bring sweet ShayleeJoy home. The proceeds from every single thing I sell goes to keep Sew Shay running and savings for orphanage fee/travel expenses. I am very grateful to have this opportunity to help save as I stay home each day with EllaKate. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful husband, 4 precious daughters (one on the way), and Jesus as my Savior in my life. I give Him the glory for my confidence to even birth this business much less keep it going. So thanks again Victoria... I am truly humbled by this recognition and pray God's richest blessings for all who support Sew Shay.

I pass this award to my friend Lynn who inspired me to take the jump and open Sew Shay to start with... I am grateful for you!!! Somewhere in the Sun and Livi Lu Originals.

Match Play...

Thursday, April 23, 2009

EK, Scott, and I traveled to Canton yesterday for the next round of state playoffs. Hart had 3 singles and 2 doubles teams playing. Won three of the five so they move on to the sweet 16. Thinking we will be playing in Atlanta Monday. Got some great shots of the girls. Rosie was home with a friend and Savannah is coming home today for a month- she finished finals yesterday!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

Isn't She Lovely???

So Cute and So Easy!

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

I saw this idea online and tucked it away on my to do sewing list. Yesterday while at Target, I picked up this pink top and denim capris knowing I would add the ribbon tabs to the bottom of capris. I think they turned out adorable!!!

EK & O

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

** Update:**
As you know Amelia has had mono. Last week EK was running a fever and had a slight sore throat. I was in Athens and decided to run her on to the pediatrician for a look. They tested for strep and drew blood for mono test... we found out yesterday, she is positive for mono. Now we wait for Rosie- wonder if she will get it??? That would be 4 for 4.

The bad thing is... when we ate lunch with Lynn & O, EK double dipped into the salsa... uh oh... now the three of us have been exposed. Praying we all stay

Today EK and I met Lynn & O for a little shopping and lunch. We had a ball and the girls loved being together... they say they are best friends. Lynn and I are amazed how well they interact and love playing together.

Amelia's Region Tournament

Thursday, April 16, 2009

EK and I traveled to Oconee today for Amelia's region tennis tournament. Amelia was scheduled to play only one match this morning because she has mono, but did so well, Coach Pate asked if she felt up to the afternoon one as well. She and her doubles partner, Sarah, won both matches and when added to their team score placed 3rd in region- earning a spot at state! We all called Amelia Grandma all day because she had to sit and rest between all the points. We were all concerned she would wear herself out but did amazingly well. She is sleeping in tomorrow and hopefully will be stronger next week. We are so proud of her!!!

EK's Wheels...

EK and I enjoyed the beautiful weather yesterday to practice riding her bike and driving her jeep. She loves both of them... actually she LOVES anything outside!!!
